Cast Bullet Matches

The Single Shot Cast Bullet matches or Schuetzenbund meet on the 2nd Sundays of the month starting in April (depending on weather) and continue to mid-September. The group meets at 12:00 noon on the 100 yard range - farthest from the range tower. Shooting is done with original or reproduction single shot designs that were popular in the late 1800s and other single shot rifles with the exception of bolt action types. Original rifles were used for target shooting and hunting small and large game, including buffalo.

Cast lead bullets are used without gas checks at the 100 yard range; ten shots from the bench and ten shots offhand.  For those that want even more fun, we then move to the 50 yard range and repeat with .22 caliber rifles.  We just have a lot of fun shooting and would like to introduce new shooters to the sport.
